Dear 1st Year UPang FLAMES (College Students): A few days from now, our 1st semester for Academic Year 2014/15 is about to close, allow me then as your CSDL Director to say: THANK YOU… -for trusting PHINMA UPang for your college education; -for being open to our Academic Principles and Philosophy particularly for our DLP now named Student Centered Learning (SCL); -for adhering to our Values and school policies; -for allowing our educators (teachers and school operations personnel) to inspire and guide you; -for actively participating in our activities- institutional, college and RSO initiated events; -for all your daily sacrifices (commuting to and fro, eating off time schedules, washing of uniforms and RSO shirts, waking up early and sleeping late nights, of writing concept notes again and again, of missing some personal commitments to give way to group practices and group works (hay sabayang pagbigkas, and Zumba Dance), of coming to class even during bad weathers specially high tide and going home soaked in floods. KUDOS… -for adjusting to college life- PHINMA UPang College Student Life; -for braving the recitations, quizzes, reports, exams, projects, papers; -for meeting new friends, support groups and finding your new significant others/special friend-someone; -reaching out to your classmates who are in need; for the ¼ , ½ and 1 whole sheet of papers shared; pens and ball pens lend; -to all your achievement, how small they may seem; -to all our student achievers for proving that excellence is attainable; -BUT most specially, KUDOS to all our ordinary students for proving that with proper guidance, inspiration they too can deserve our education. OUR PRAYERS… -for your good health and safety specially for your immediate family, benefactors and relatives who supports your schooling- financially. OUR HOPE… -to have you back come 2nd semester so that we can continue to journey with you in your quest for a “quality education, close to home”. WE ARE PHINMA UPANG FAMILY and as a FAMILY we must always be concern of the welfare of our classmates/schoolmates. WE CHALLENGE OUR Circle Leaders (small group leaders)/ OUR CLASS MAYORS to be responsible and accountable for their group members/classmates not just out of compliance but out of gratitude and commitment. Feel free also reach out to your advisers, program heads, deans, CSDL for financial, academics and special concern. And as the semester ends… it’s always good to look back to day 1: During our 1st year orientations. Our 1st Semester might not be perfect in one way or the other but this will not deter us from painting a clearer picture of our future. We are FLAMES and out torch will ablaze a new as we begin our 2nd semester 2014/15. PS. Please extend our gratitude to your parents and benefactors.
