Dear All, Firstly we would like to thank you for your kind and generous support and donations to Turunç Cats Protection and Rescue Housing Association over the past couple of weeks particularly after announcing the serious issue regarding the Landlord and the shop. That issue is still not resolved, it became complex and it was deemed we should take legal advice and so it is now in the hands of the Charity Lawyer. The donations are sitting in the bank waiting for the legal situation to be resolved, thank you. We will keep you updated. We have had a very busy couple of weeks there is so much to learn about fundraising in Turkey as a registered Charity, we actually spent almost 4 hours in Muğla at the office of the Government Body that supervise and control Charities and fund raising. We collected our official books and spent time learning how to complete them, these books one of which is the account book have to be returned once a year to be checked once the official accountant has completed them. Fundraising is a mine field but we have genuine official support and were told by our Supervisor that as a Registered Charity we are only a baby we have no arms and legs yet, to be patient and we will grow. We are only a month old we will have 24 members once we have grown up, 17 of these will be Turkish, 5 British and 2 Germans. We no longer have the shop in the village and we’re not sure yet if we will have a shop in the future but we will have Fundraising events, things will be different but stronger hopefully. Most importantly our Precious Turunç Cats will continue to be cared for to the absolute best of our abilities. The Cabin and Quarantine are both very busy at the moment and we can’t thank our Volunteers and Supporters enough for making it all possible. xx
