This one is a bit of a brain twister, but it does raise some - TopicsExpress

This one is a bit of a brain twister, but it does raise some interesting questions after the recent, negative outcomes from treatment trials in progressive MS. This study suggests that there may have been actual neuro protective effects from lamotrigine in those who took the drug (based on blood drug levels) even though the trial was negative. It seems a lot of trial patients may have decided to stop their treatment! A drug that many people seem not to have been able to take, even in the setting of a trial, is hardly great news - but signs of efficacy might be a very helpful clue to future, more tolerable ways to treat progressive disease. Lets hope! Kate ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23936370
