Dear American friends, why does one have to make an argument for attacking ISIS? The CURRENT catastrophe called Iraq is arguably somewhat of our own making. In our invasion and the subsequent violence, hundreds of thousands were displaced and killed. ISIS is the new, more organized, more vicious, and more capable version of Al Qaeda representing a threat not only to the region, but to Israel and inevitably OURSELVES. They currently have a free hand across national borders. Now tens of thousands of innocents are again being killed and displaced and starved including the last pockets of surviving Christians in Iraq. We have a hand in this. We have responsibility here. To deny it is woefully shortsighted. And we have national security interests here. Yet Mr. Obama has to defend the bit of bombing to his own people. I loath the military industrial complex. Loath war. But when evil and tyranny go unchecked, you never avoid having to deal with it, though when the day of reckoning comes upon us, it is harder, and bloodier to contain the longer we wait. See the story of Europes appeasement of Hitler in hopes of Avoiding war in th 30s. Between Russian Imperialism and its propensity to demonize the US, and Islamic Jihadism, I am afraid that for the security of the free world, as well as our children, the US AND Europe need to be preparing defenses with aggression and haste and deter the threats before their bombs have brought it to us all. (and mind you, Turkey, that liberal Islamic secular state is teetering to both Islamism and dictatorship, legally, in the mold of Hitler and Putin).
