Dear Amnesty Tunisia Young active Members, We are writing to you to invite you to take part in the third INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS ACTION CAMP in Bulgaria, organised by Amnesty International, in partnership with the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee. This years camp will take place from 12 until 19 July in Sofia, Bulgaria. 1) OBJECTIVES OF THE CAMP The human rights action camp is fully embedded in the S.O.S. Europe campaign strategy and is an activism and communications highlight supporting the S.O.S. Europe campaign objectives. In line with the campaign priorities, the camp immerses activists in the priority topic, in a location where the human rights violations are happening. Activists spend time with people affected by the issue: refugees and migrants, local activists and organisations, the local community. At the end of the camp they feel capable, confident and motivated to continue working as a campaign ambassador with their section. As the main focus of our campaign this year is on the human rights violations against refugees and migrants in Bulgaria, we will be organizing the camp in Sofia. Since we do not have an AI office in the country we will be organizing the camp in jointly with one of the most prominent human rights organizations in the country and Amnesty’s partner, the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee. The model and vision of the human rights camps is anchored in Amnesty International’s key values of activism: empowering and training activists to take action for and with Amnesty, connecting local activists to the global movement, connecting activists and sections with each other by facilitating and encouraging the exchange of experiences. Engrained in an active participation approach, activists are trained up to become campaign ambassadors, to be at the heart of a growing group of loyal activists and supporters (for the campaign and the movement in general). We ask you for a motivation letter in English because a sufficient level of English is essential to be able to participate in the camp .
