Dear Anglers, Had a trip to Kabootar Pahari, Ex Army Water Sports Club, Mangla Dam along with my angling partners Rashid, Gul Khan, Luqman and Zulfi on 18 - 19 Dec 2014 (Thr/Fri) including night stay. Reached the spot at around 7:30 on Thursday morning. Day generally remained dull as we had only a couple of bites but failed to land any fish due to invisible dead trees and weeds right in front of left corner of Kabootar Pahari. Only fun was nice Bar B Cue by Rashid at night. Game started at around 10:30 PM with a bite of Carp, China of about 2 kg immediately followed by a bite by Wallago (Malhi) of about 5 kg. Both fish were successfully landed. Later part of the night remained busy. On Friday morning it was extremely foggy with poor visibility till 11:00 AM. Foggy period remained very good as we landed about 6-8 Carp, China weighing between 1.5 and 2.5 kg. Fog finally disappeared at around 11.30 AM. Till 4:00 PM we landed another 3-4 Carp,China. Rolled up at around 4:15 PM and had a total catch of 1 x Wallago and 14 x Carp, China. Overall it was a pleasant and productive trip. Anglers visiting Mangla are advised to avoid ground baiting as the fish during winters does not have good appetite. Over feeding results into poor bite and a disappointing trip.
