Dear BBC we have over the last forty nine years of my life had some good times, great times and pretty awful times if I can be frank. You gave us John Noakes, Lesley Judd Peter Purves and Valerie Singleton. We had Bernard Cribbins reading Jackanory and the Double Deckers. We had the Banana Splits and Scooby Doo as well as Doctor Who. As I grew and became more aware of the world around me, you informed us of the happenings, the disasters, the wars, the elections and even Royal weddings (I must confess I was playing golf both times). Your sports coverage was faultless, the National, World Cups, MOTD, Grandstand, Wimbledon and the golf. To many worldwide you were the pinnacle of broadcasting. Something that was strengthened by the wisdom and voice of God (Sir David Attenborough). So many things I have mentioned and so much I have neglected to include. Recently though you have become a shambles, not even a ghost or shadow of your former self. You seem to see only one side of the coin. Kowtowing to your masters and mistresses, thinking that is where your bread is buttered. Your coverage of the Scottish referendum outside of debates has been shoddy at least, a debacle at best. You ask us, the public, to pay for impartiality and yet we would have been better served by John Motson commentating on what has been going on around us. Without going into EVERYTHING, let us look at this weekend. Thousands turn out in Edinburgh for Pro-Union march and support. It was a march by the Orange order. Well within their democratic rights to do so, but in stating NO SURRENDER at the end of their speeches, that is not democracy, THAT is a war cry. You have brought shame and ignominy to the term broadcasting. En masse resign your posts, seek alternative employment and apologise for a campaign that Orwells Big Brother would be proud of. By the way, I have already replaced the piece of dust in my diary page for today. VOX POPULI
