if you’ve been on Facebook at all then you know about the missing dog, Beedoo. This is a 20lb shy Whippet/JRT, who went missing on December 11th while staying with some friends of the owners, who were vacationing in Mexico. His owners immediately flew back and have been working desperately every day to find him. They have handed out and hung hundreds of flyers and stood on street corners waving signs. They have created a Facebook page (Help Find Beedoo), and post regularly on Craigslist. They are heart sick, but they are not giving up. Beedoo was spotted a couple of times in the following week with the last sighting in Forest Heights, but the leads went dry a few weeks ago. AND THEN THE BITTER COLD CAME. It was hard to be hopeful, but we continued trying to get a news story for Beedoo, and the owners had vinyl signs made. On Sunday, January 4th, at around 4pm, a woman saw Beedoo behind her home in Forest Heights. It was less than half a mile from where he was last seen more than two weeks before. Somehow Beedoo survived the cold and the coyotes. Kelley from NW Animal Companions and I went up there and set two traps in that area yesterday, but if Beedoo is wandering around foraging for food, he might not come back by that area for weeks. He is fearful of strangers, so we just want people to tell us where they’ve seen him. I went back up there today and climbed around the ravine behind the home where he was seen, and then drove around the neighborhood scoping out all the places he could be hiding or seeking shelter. WE NEED TO RALLY VOLUNTEERS TO SPREAD INFORMATION IN THAT AREA! We are organizing a group of volunteers to meet in Forest Heights this Sunday at 11am to blitz Forest Heights. There is a network of trails we need to cover, and there are many streets to hit with flyers. We need to divide and conquer. Someone has seen Beedoo up there, but they may not know who to tell and it’s important that they connect the dots. He is a 20 lb slender dog, dark brown (almost black) over white, with lots of black freckles on his under side. We need lots of people on this!!
