Dear Brothers and Sisters: It is an honored to serve as your New York Legislative Representative. I am asking you to consider supporting me once again to represent the men and women of ACRE. I have served for 6 years as a union official, experiencing every aspect of maintaining the health and well-being of the ACRE membership. With many more years here as a conductor, I want to maintain and preserve the great career that we have. As New York Legislative Representative I work diligently to establish healthy relationships with political leaders. I am proud to say that the promises I made when I first asked to be elected as NY Legislative Representative have been achieved, and as I served, many more initiatives were successfully accomplished. Some of the accomplishments are as follows: Maintaining relationships with political leaders in Albany. Successfully influenced the MTA 2015-2019 Budget plan to meet our membership needs. Continued The ACRE Scholarship Fund. Implemented a Centralized Safety Committee. Successfully manage the ACRE PAC Fund, which includes 9 State filings a year with the Board of Elections. Forced Metro-North to allocate $700,000. for hand-held radios. As a result 590 Conductors were issued radios. Established relationships with many Assistant District Attorneys, which in turn help prosecute over 20 people that assaulted Conductors. Successfully returned FMLA, Short-term disability, and employee reimbursements back to Metro-North from the BSC. Met with the BSC to create a program which allows employees to access their “Proof of Employment Statement” instantly from the BSC website. The proof of employment statement is crucial when obtaining a mortgage or other types of loans. Advocated for our collective bargaining agreement to allow all employees hired after 2007 to return back to the retirement age of 55, lifting to cap to their overtime earnings when calculating their final average salary at retirement; at no cost to members who were hire before 2007. This will affect over 300 members. As a union we are all one, we must all fight together for the betterment of our livelihoods, nothing would please me more than to serve another term as your New York Legislative Representative.
