Dear Cale Families, Please join me in welcoming Brad Handrich - TopicsExpress

Dear Cale Families, Please join me in welcoming Brad Handrich to our team as our new assistant principal. In his resume, Brad said his professional objective was to “become part of a school community that is passionate about learning and dual language immersion.” Brad has eight years of culturally responsive teaching experience in Mexico, Colorado and Venezuela, has presented at international workshops and conferences, has led professional development training and is well-versed in the application of technology to the learning environment. He is fluent in Spanish and committed to the success of all learners. Brad grew up in Colorado and did his administrative internship as a Summer Scholars Principal for an elementary school in Denver. His wife, Hannah, is an ESOL teacher at Greer and she’s also a graduate of Western Albemarle High School. Brad is also a father of 10 month old. We were fortunate to have had the opportunity to speak with several outstanding assistant principal candidates. What distinguished Brad was his strong grasp of the importance of our dual language and immersion programs, and his experience in making these programs work. In addition his experience with literacy, enriching intervention, project based learning and integrating technology and his overall enthusiasm make him an excellent addition to our school community. I hope many of you will stop by to meet Brad when you are at our annual Open House on Monday, August 18 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Enjoy the rest of your summer, Lisa D.
