Dear Delegates, One more mistake, can keep us in another 4yrs - TopicsExpress

Dear Delegates, One more mistake, can keep us in another 4yrs of opposition. Another 4yrs in opposition will sink the party into a point of no return. In 2008, we were told the electoral votes were stolen in favor of the incumbent government. In 2012, despite our All- Die-Be-Die mantra, we were still told it was stolen. What IS wrong? And can we be safe with the same candidate in 2016? We have been promised victory repeatedly since 2007 and yet we are still in OPPOSITION. What new thing can Nana Akufo Addo do to win power that he has not yet done? Why vote for a candidate who keeps depreciating the percentage of votes (49% to 47%)? If the argument is that Atta-Mills went a third time and won, the reality is that Atta Mills deserved a third opportunity because he kept increasing his percentage of votes and won additional regions unlike Nana Akufo-Addo. Why vote for a candidate who moved the NPP from 6 regions to 1 and half regions? Why vote for a candidate who keeps getting lesser votes in the Presidential elections than that of the Parliamentary votes combined? Why vote for a candidate who has lost 3 Presidential elections despite the abundance of financial and logistical resources available to his campaign? Why vote for a candidate who has toured the country several times within 2yrs but lost to his opponent who just used 3 months to campaign? Nana Akufo Addo at his peak of charm, strategy and financial resources in 2008 could not win. Despite all the hardships, corruption, prayers/crusades endorsements etc. in the 2012 elections, he still failed to deliver his promise of leading the NPP to POWER. The same old failed plan is being implemented now. Can we expect different results? The NPP has unanimously awarded Nana Akufo Addo two straight opportunities to lead our party, and what did he give us in return? OPPOSITION! The NPP has duly paid its dues to Nana Akufo Addo. Cherished Delegates, without power, we can never form a government, neither can we have the better life we promise Ghanaians. Think victory and vote for a candidate with a cross- sectional appeal that can deliver POWER IN 2016. We cannot compare the fear of pursuing a good plan for the comfort of implementing a bad one you have already experienced, despite the fact that it keeps failing to yield the desired results. Nana Akufo Addo is a living proof that winning primaries is by no means a guarantee to win national elections. The primaries win needs to be backed by a solid winning strategy. He has proved twice already that he has no such plan. Don’t gamble with your condition and the future of your kids. It is better to go with a fresh, energetic and winnable candidate in 2016 than a candidate (tried and failed) who does not have the capacity to go beyond 2016. The strength and future of our party must not be sacrificed to any individual, it must be protected. Alan can DELIVER, give him a CHANCE. Tink power !! Vote Alan !!!
