Tommorrow when I vote I will remember how Obama care has changed - TopicsExpress

Tommorrow when I vote I will remember how Obama care has changed my life in the last 2 months........for the worse! For many years I have had good insurance and good Drs. Those of you who know me know that I have had 6 eye surgeries in the last 2 years. My Dr. has a great reputation as a specialist in surgery and diseases of the eye. All surgeries and eye drops were paid for by my insurance minus my deductable . On Sept. 29th I had a cataract removed. The surgery center is in the same medical center as my Drs. office which is one mile from my house. On Oct. 1st my medicare kicked in. To make a long story short I had not been able to find a supplemetal plan that accepted both of my major medical Drs. So i had to compromise by driving an hour and a half to see my eye doctor. Once every 2 weeks he goes to a small rural community in Northern Ky to serve people there at a clinic at the hospital. For me it is a 1 and half hour drive there and back plus 45 min. at the clinic. Yes, 4 hours out of my day..... not to mention my gas. To see a Dr. Whose office is 1 mile from my house; I have been his patient for 10 years Got home and went to Walgreens for my perscribed eye drops only to find out that Medicareno longer pays for eye drops. The total came to $500. My supplimental paid $250 and lucky me got to pay $247 out of pocket......and then when my SS payment came, medicare took their share out. I have to make the drive again next week Now I understand there is a bill before congress on lowering the amount that medicare will pay for joint replacements. The vote is pending because no one wanted to vote on it before the election. The lesson to be learned is that with Obama care is that you dont know how it will affect you until a situation arises. So what segment of the population probably uses eye drops the most and has the most joint replacements..........Seniors! So all of you working young people who are complaining about paying high insurance premiums because of us seniors , think again. This is what socialized medicine is like. Sooner or latter unless youre on the dole it will come bite you in the butt.......oops, I mean purse. Glad I dont have an eye appontment tomorrow so I can go vote.
