Please share widely Register by August 30: Notice of Public Hearings La Ronge, Sask (Submissions can be written as well as oral) Ref. 2013-H-08 The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) will hold three public hearings on the applications by Cameco Corporation (Cameco) to renew its uranium mine and mill operating licences for the Key Lake, McArthur River and Rabbit Lake operations located in northern Saskatchewan. Cameco has requested 10-year licence terms. The current licences authorize Cameco to perform mining and milling activities at Key Lake, McArthur River and Rabbit Lake, and maintain the facilities necessary to support these operations. Hearing: October 2-3, 2013 Place: Kikinahk Friendship Centre, 320 Boardman Street, La Ronge, Saskatchewan Time: as set by the agenda published prior to the hearing date The public hearing will be webcast live on the CNSC Web site and posted for a period of 90 days. Members of the public who have an interest or expertise in this matter or information that may be useful to the Commission are invited to comment on Cameco’s applications. Requests to intervene must be filed with the Secretary of the Commission by August 30, 2013 online at nuclearsafety.gc.ca/eng/commission/intervention/index.cfm or at the coordinates below. Pursuant to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission Rules of Procedure, the request must include the following information: • a written submission of the comments to be presented to the Commission; • a statement setting out whether the requester wishes to intervene by way of written submission only or by way of written submission and oral presentation; and • name, address and telephone number of the requester. Personal information, such as address and telephone numbers, is essential for linking the submission to its author. Please submit your personal information on a separate page if you wish to ensure its confidentiality. It should be noted that all submissions are available to the public upon request to the Secretariat. Cameco’s submissions and CNSC staff’s recommendations to be considered at the hearing will be available after August 2, 2013. These documents are not downloadable. To obtain them, a request must be made to the Secretariat at the address below or directly from the Web site.
