Dear Diary: I think we need a roller derby track at the Legislature. I accept that I wouldnt last five minutes on the track with the Kickin Vixens but after looking over the roll of MLAs I feel pretty confident that I could do pretty well in a bout there. And it might just be a great way to settle some disagreements. I didnt really know what to expect as pulled into the the Trenton arena parking lot yesterday but I let say I was pleasantly surprised. I wasnt surprised that the Vixens are so tough, I pretty much expected that since so many of them are from Pictou East, but the tone was set right away when the game was barely underway I watched Marla throw a wicked hip check. Welcome to Pictou County Tar City Rollers! The crowd was enthralled and I for one cant wait for the next bout. The field wasnt quite as aggressive at the card boat races in Merigomish but from what I hear it was just as competitive. The Tory Dory sat this one out but I felt really left out not being in the field this year so we are planning to make our return to the race next year. Fingers crossed. I also want everyone to know that if you need any advice on where to find a BBQd hamburger or hotdog, I can help. I have now had BBQ for three consecutive lunches and dinners and you know what, I am OK with that. Last night, I was asked, You must be sick of hamburgers by now?
