Dear Dr. Mohammed Said Jidda, I fear Im already at the checkpoint of compassion fatigue; how long does it take for this to set in - and is there a way to forestall this moral collapse? I read about the reported abduction of schoolgirls today and it didnt seem out of place. Is this not a symptom? Is there really a limit to human empathy? Is mine becoming numb? Do you advise I take my mind off the killings around me, impossible as this is?
