Dear Editor, It both disgusted and angered me to read about the actions of Jimbo Fisher in killing the bat as well as the handling of the matter by the FSView staff. At first I thought that it was an Onion-esque type article and found it to be sick humor regardless. Upon realizing that it was all too true, find it appalling that J. Fisher seemed to think it was okay for him to act out and release his frustrations by beating another mammal to death. His violent actions were petty and deplorable and showed lack of leadership, personal responsibility and integrity. The FSView followed suit by your flippant way of handling of such an inhumane act. Bats perform a vital role in our eco-system and should be provided with respect and care. In addition to keeping the mosquito population down which reduces the need for higher loads of pesticides in our environment, they also provide all important pollination services for OUR benefit. If this is something that comes as a surprise to anyone, I would suggest becoming educated about other beings that share our planet and why they are really here, most definitely not for us to take our childish anger out on. If this is the kind of leadership that Jimbo Fisher and the staff at FSView have to offer, you all need to step down.
