Dear Evergreen Christian School Family, I want to extend an excited welcome to each of the ECS families as we begin the 2013-2014 school year together. I am eager to get to know each of you and continue this partnership of educating your children. I want to thank Cyndi Pollard, Kim DeLeon and the many past teachers and staff who have been such an integral part of building ECS into the school it is today. I also would like to thank you for choosing to be a part of the ECS family. Our desire is to partner with you and your students in the effort to disciple our young people to be tomorrow’s godly leaders. Our goal is to influence students to be servant leaders who share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their community while excelling academically and in the areas of their talents and gifting. Prepare yourself to be shocked and amazed at the work Jesus will do this year and be sure to share your stories with me! Speaking of stories I want to share a little about my family. My wife, Jen, and I have been married for 12 years. We have a one-year-old daughter, Ruth-Ann, who is a joy and a blessing. We met at a Christian, family camp in Alaska where I was born and raised. We both attended Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, ID and later transferred and graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman, MT in 2004. I was a History education major while she graduated in Art education. I taught in the classroom for 7 years and felt the calling to move into administration. I pursued further education through George Fox University and have been an administrator for 3 years. I am looking forward to meeting you all and continuing the mission to “Love. Partner. Teach. This is a wonderful opportunity for you and your child(ren) to meet other families, connect with classmates, teachers, support staff, and administration. Students may bring their school supplies to their new classroom as well on this evening. Please pay special attention to the Back to School Night schedule and process. Don’t worry about making dinner – our Lunch Ladies are hosting a BBQ from 5:00-7:00pm. A Hamburger/Cheeseburger or Hotdog meal is $5 per person. I would like to encourage you to visit with our fabulous Music Department, discuss upcoming sports programs with the Athletic Director, find out ways to get involved with our PTM, learn about Extended Care, and hear about our awesome Library. They will be set up at tables located on the blacktop near the covered Basketball Area. Today, we will start or continue this important journey of preparing your children to be godly leaders in our local community, state, country and world.
