Dear FB Friends, It is hoped that you will accept this message as a friendly warning and FYI to anyone who has, or is thinking about, enrolling in a clinical trial. Carolyn and I have discussed the fact that both of our husbands died after participating in (local) clinical trials. When each man experienced elevated liver enzymes, they were released from the study and basically kicked to the curb. Gary died of Pancreatic Cancer, Phil died of Liver and Esophageal Cancer. When the separate clinical trial offices were contacted about the deaths, Carolyn and I received the same response. We were told that the clinical trial was over, and there was nothing that could be done. In my situation, I have contacted several attorneys (none of whom will take my case), and WLOS (who will not return my calls). It is somewhat frustrating that more news coverage is given to children who have missed or been in a fight on the school bus, than an investigation focusing upon the deaths of 2 men who died within a mile each other under the same questionable circumstances. If anyone has any ideas, suggestions or just an opinion on this subject , let us know. Thanks!
