Dear FIBA, Please allow us to introduce ourselves. We are a group - TopicsExpress

Dear FIBA, Please allow us to introduce ourselves. We are a group of Lebanese Basketball fans and we are very disappointed in the current situation of disagreement and lawsuit against the federation filed by 2 of the Lebanese clubs. We strongly believe that the Lebanese national team has worked very hard and deserves the opportunity to compete in the Asian championship. Lineupexpert is a basketball website acting within community of basketball fans; the site has created an online petition to gather signatures in support of the game and the Lebanese national team. It was uploaded at 8 PM on July 12 and closed at 3 AM the next morning, at which time it gathered 3644 signatures and after sorting and scanning through e-mails (removing empty fields or duplication) we assume to have 2697 relevant signatures (those with a valid e-mail address). Attached you will find an excel file with all the names, reference numbers and comments from the fans who showed their support on the petition, but their e-mails have not been disclosed for privacy purposes. However, should this petition be taken into serious consideration, we would be happy to provide the list of e-mails only if it will have an impact on getting our team to play in the FIBA Asian Championship. Also attached, there are some screen shots from several basketball groups that shared the link and contributed to acquiring the signatures. We hope our message will be given serious consideration since we represent several other thousands of fans who would like to see our team compete in the championship, but more importantly, we would all like to see the game return to its vibrant status where it is about peaceful competition and love of the game, and not about political or religious opinions that have marked the rest of our beloved country. Best regards, Lineupexpert team on behalf of Lebanese Basketball Fans
