Dear Facebook Friends and Family, Ive been off of Facebook for a while for good reason. Back in February I got a cut on my head. Shortly after many other sores started to pop up on my head. In March I had the sores checked and cultured and they tested positive for a staph infection. I was put on an antibiotic which didnt work, a week after completing that antibiotic I started a different antibiotic (while on both antibiotics I had to stop taking my methotrexate (chemo for my RA) but was allowed to stay on my Humira injections). Antibiotic #2 didnt work so I was told to stop ALL RA meds and to see infectious disease specialist. At the same time, it was determined that my RA had attacked my blood stream and depleted 94% of my iron. I had to go in for an iron infusion over 3 days. Day 1 I had a very mild allergic reaction. Day 2 they changed the type of iron and I had a severe allergic reaction starting with hives, leading to an extreme headache and finally resulting with me waking up in the ER with defibulator pads on my extremely painful chest. Two days later at home I apparently became dehydrated fainted and had a seizure and again woke up in an ER. Today I had a neurology appt. I received an occipital nerve block injection (actually 3) into my occipital lobe. OMG the most painful thing ever. I have been given a referral for an MRI of the brain. There is a suspicion that there may be a small chance that I have multiple sclerosis. The odds are slim but because I am having nerve issues and some numb spots it needs to be checked. My seizure was ruled a result of a faint not epilepsy. Thank heavens!!!! I am working from home. Im down, Im trying very hard to fight. I wanted to fundraise for the RA walk on June 1st and Im not even going to be able to walk. All I can do is just be there and cheer my team on. I miss my rock... Dont get me wrong I have my rocks at home, family rocks, friend rocks... But my rock oh I miss my rock she knows how I feel. I will get through this.
