So…here for a one #bucketchallenge . Not ICE, not MILK, not anything else, it is my favorite #bookbucketchallenge. There were several invitations early verbally n FB. But latest Roshan malli’s on the top day of start of that #colombobookfair let me reveal mine. Let me thank my mother my reading idol n Gamini mama my neighbor for so long who has given lot of his free time to me n all teachers who pushed me to read lot of books , journals n anything readable .There was a time having time to read like nothing. After O/Ls read more than 200 books within 6 months until A/L starts. I do say those are the luckiest days of life. Having all the back pains sitting on arm chair but still reading .When selecting books I first thought of categorizing #lifechanging; but unfortunate I could add only 1. 1. THE BIBLE-even I might not have read 30-40 % of this fully so far. But what I heard of and read in full given me lot of insight. For sure before death I will have a full read of this .may be the stories, hypothesis of this I have heard in my life pushed me to read more story books . Second category would be most impacted or interesting. There were more than 20 I could list here at least but let me add top 9. 2. Which taken me the journey of reading translations was මොන්ත ක්‍රිස්තෝ සිටුවරයා by K. G. Karunathilake in 1988. I read all 6 books for first time within 2 to 3 weeks and next read all set more than 5 or 6 times. Liveliness, glamour made me so closer. 3. Dr. Ediriweera Sarathchandra’s පින් ඇති සරසවි වරමක් දෙන්නේ was the book made as an icon of Sri Lankan n foreign චරිතාපදාන (autobiographies ) 4. සෙන් කොට්ටන් of my friend Mahinda Prasad Masimbula’s is the one shown most maturity in today’s novels . 5. Matrin wickramasinghe’s ගම්පෙරලිය is THE ICON for me from sri Lamkan novels by far 6. For sure ලස්සන වසිලිස්සා by radurga publications was the one which made me lived in fairy tales in my childhood. I am still having that book which can easily be used for few more decades. 7. The Old Man and the Sea. By Ernest Hemingway may be the book put me into most silence after read it 8. The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin S. Sharma is a book written very selectively .It made me read all other set of his books . but most are repetition of same message. 9. It may be bit silly to say Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat was the one made best interest from Indian English novels. But when I checked with some of my Indian friends even that is the same. :D 10. If I will not add “As You Think” By James Allen this would not complete at all. Still I am reading in-between lines of same. . It has given composure to my ability to grasp the information. And understand the concepts a lot. Thanks all authors .It is like having a coffee with you live. Maybe one day very soon I might come out with my own version of heart talks. finally let me invite Susara Wijeratne aiya Chamila Karunarathne n Anuradhi Chethana Senanayaka n Nuwan Rajapaksha malli to add the same as I know all are good readers. cheers,
