Dear Facebook: What I am going to post is in no way related to anyone I know on Facebook or anyone I am friends with or anyone that is a single parent (props to all of you out there in facebook land. Everyone knows that I have custody for a reason and here is part of the reason why: ENJOY!!! (sorry for the length) but heres the short version. Dear Single MoM [SM] (Bellas MoM) Had to go to court today (Marion County) for Contempt charges against you for the following: 1) Non payment of child support for the last 2 years which your court ordered to pay - per petition for contempt citation. When the Judge asked why you havent paid, you respond with well I have Polycystic Kidney Disease since 2011 (PAY ATTENTION TO THIS DATE) and was hospitalized last year four time for 4-7 days each and blah, blah, blah (all related to health issues). Judge looks at me and says, Mr Pfeifer do you have anything to add and I said, yes, Kriste Lewis, a 40-year old mom with polycystic kidney disease (PKD), recently became a New Orleans Saints cheerleader which is a strenous and more rigorous job than most regular 40 hour a week jobs. I also see a mentally handicapped individual walk 3-4 miles to work every day and then walks home There is absolutely no reason why SM cant get a job when I see her at the Indianapolis Indians the same night I go with Bella. She has time for a social life but no time to find a job?? Judge agreed with me. Judge then says, SM when was the last time you worked, SM says last year I made about $100/ week doing sales for a couple months Judge says, how much of that money did you give to your daughter?? SM says, none of it so I chime in actions speak louder than words, huh your honor. Although Judge didnt like it, Judge agreed with me and give me a stern look. I smile. 2) Respondent (SM) does not have a valid Drivers License and therefor is not able to pick up or drop off minor child for Respondents parenting time so I say what happened to your license SM? SM says Well I lost it because of an accident and so and so was driving my car.... I say so it had nothing to do with the DUI you were found guilty of in 2012? SM - silence.(chirp,chirp)... silence. Judge says, so SM did you drive here today? SM says Yes ( I just about lose it when I heard the Yes come out of her mouth) I said nothing. Judge says, so Mr. Pfeifer, what would you like for me to do in this case? I said this: Since we have appeared before you your honor for years and SM has been in contempt for years (judge agreed and noted that we had been in front of him before and for the same contempt charges) I think we will never get child support and the money SM owes my attorney. If we could garnish any future wages including her tax refund money and disability then that would help pay some of the money SM owes, but what I think will make it all better would be if she turns over her title to her car immediately to me and I in turn sell it and pay back some of the money she owes after all she doesnt have a license and no job to pay any money so what does she need a car for?? Judge nods and says, Ill take it under advisement then I chimed in, but before we go your honor, Im just wondering why, if SM has had PK disease since 2011(there it is) and her kidneys were failing, why would she go out and drink and get drunk and then drive her vehicle, thats just not something I quite understand and I turn and look at SM and smile as the Judge dismisses us both. .....Today was a good day.
