Dear Facebook friends. I am new to this forgive the lack of personalization. But watching my daughters have been so cool. Its that time of year again when we prepare for our last daughters senior year activities for Kayla Lanette Cockrel. Kayla has received a 4-year scholarship from Wayne State Universitys Journalism Institute for Media Diversity and a four-year book award from the Rosa Parks Scholarship Foundation. She will also be in the first (inaugural) Cass Tech dual program of 2016 receiving her high school diploma and associates degree from WCCD. Kayla is our last daughter to participate in the Cotillion Society of Detroit debutante program. She will join her sisters Kennedy Class of 2013 and Kendal Class of 2014 in this special event. We humbly hope that you will join us Saturday, April 25 at the historic Masonic Temple for her Cotillion debut. Tickets are $100 apiece. Table sponsorship is $1500. If you are unable to attend, wont you consider placing a digital ad with TCSDEF, a 501 c3 nonprofit organization? Ads run as small as you like and up. Tickets and ads can be purchased on-line at TCSDEF.org. Please identify yourself as a patron/ticket/or ad buyer for Kayla Cockrel. Deadline for ads are March 1, 2015. Enclosed are forms that you can print out and mail as well as a copy of our official invitation. Though originating in the South, Cotillions are an age old tradition that still remains prevalent among African-Americans around the country. Our family is proud to be continuing the tradition.
