Dear Families: I regret to inform you that Mrs. Reynolds, our beloved pre-k teacher and brand new kindergarten teacher has decided to resign. As you can see from her letter below, her move to kindergarten has been less than fulfilling and despite the unfortunate timing of her decision, Friday, September 27th will be her last day at SJRS. I cannot thank her enough for all her years of service to our pre-k students, and I wish her all the best in her future endeavors. Unfortunately, I have heard some disturbing rumors these last couple days, and I would like to assure you that Mrs. Reynolds was not fired, nor was she forced to move to kindergarten. She chose the position because she wanted the extra security that comes with kindergarten enrollment, and I was happy to have her. I was excited about her being able to continue working with her pre-k alumni, and I am sorry it didn’t work out. God bless you, Mrs. Reynolds, and thanks again for all that you do! Moving forward (always forward), I am pleased to announce that Mrs. DiPalma has accepted the Kindergarten position. Mrs. DiPalma is currently an aide in Mrs. Reynolds class, and her promotion helps insure the best possible transition for the children. More importantly, Mrs. DiPalma is a retired Masters level teacher and reading specialist who was also named teacher of the year in her old school. Her credentials are impressive, and I am more than confident in her abilities. Personally, she was Mrs. Etling’s aide when both my children were in her class. In fact, my older daughter still has the book Mrs. DiPalma gave her in kindergarten, and both girls have nothing but fond memories of their time with her. I am sure your children will have a positive experience as well. Replacing her in the aide position is Trish Phillips. Trish has been helping out with after care for some time now, and she still has four children here at school. If you do not know Trish, I am sure you will get to know her shortly and see for yourself the level of commitment she has to our school and mission. Welcome aboard, Trish. I hope you have a great year! Sincerely, Ted Pugliese, Principal
