Dear Family, Friends and Supporters. We are sad to announce - TopicsExpress

Dear Family, Friends and Supporters. We are sad to announce that the Winner of Miss South Sudan Canada 2013 is still under further consideration. There were some serious allegations that surfaced right after the winner was announced, and as a committee we were forced to take quick steps of action in order to resolve the matter. We as a committee decided to investigate the allegations and see if there was any evidence to them; if there was significant evidence to the claims then this would result in the winner to return the crown. At first we thought that there was truth to the allegations and as a committee we needed to take the necessary precautions to insure that we had a plan and a strategy in place. We asked all the winners to a meeting which highlighted what had taken place and we needed this to be resolved immediately as not all of our contestants and Board Members live in Calgary, or even Alberta for that matter. What was supposed to ONLY be a precaution until we gathered further evidence for and or against the claims turned out to be misinformation and an unfair representation in which we sincerely regret. The PSA made yesterday was premature and as an entire committee we never gave final consent. We thought it was only fair to wait and see if this “evidence” really was the truth and we are STILL looking at the situation and hoping to resolve it in a respectful and logical manner. We apologize about the confusion and we are working very hard to resolve this situation in a timely manner. We would like to acknowledge and thank ALL of our contestants who have been very inspirational and great role models in the community. We appreciate all of your efforts and we are so proud of each and every one of you. Lastly, we would like to thank all of the Judges, Host, Volunteers, Dj’s, Camera crew and ALL of our Supporters. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this difficult yet blissful time where our community is a priority and our unity is our strength. On Behalf of Miss South Sudan Canada, Michael Renato
