Dear Family and Friends of ROCC, Today is April 15, - TopicsExpress

Dear Family and Friends of ROCC, Today is April 15, 2014. Today is a day that many wish was skipped altogether on the calendar. The annual commemoration of this date brings tears and sadness to many people. What this day represents to at least one person in our church family who is honest enough to admit it, is one of disgust, anguish and ambiguity. And, although today can mean a financial bonanza to some, to others it is just another reminder of an ongoing financial burden that is brought to life every year on this date. To some, this is a day that through their gifts they feel that they brighten a persons day, yet to others the giving of those same gifts causes them great consternation and anguish. But, for people on either side of the coin, they are most thankful that this date is celebrated just once a year. Yes, everyone, today we celebrate the anniversary of the birth of our dear pastor, Barry Waits, 51 years ago. Carol, Brian and I thought you should know so that you can use the ROCC website to thank, support, uplift and/or cajole our illustrious leader. Please take a moment to express on this website how much you appreciate all that Barry has done and is doing to shepherd our flock. The only caveat is that you keep your comments positive in nature, unless you feel that you have to fib just a little bit. Barry and Ruthann have been a tremendous godsend to us. They answered the call when we needed them the most. Please express your appreciation likewise. Although it is not a requesite, a small gift would certainly be appropriate. The first robin redbreast of the season left us a note that Barry is partial to cookies, pies and cakes. Feel free to drop them off in the kitchen area this Sunday. Thank you, River Oaks, for making our church family so lovingly unique. Carol Keen Brian Jennings Mike Keen
