Dear Ferguson, MO This isnt the 60s anymore. There isnt an truck load of racist pigs anymore lynching people. In my experience since living here reverse racism is much more common. The press do no justice by making everything about race. The press are constantly making race issues, and this simply justifies many idiots. If the police had shot a white guy ( which they frequently do,) there wouldnt be looting or race discussions. I saw just as many white guys on the initial peace March, and just as many white idiots looting and using death as an excuse to act like muppets and loot stores...that cannot be justified and is simply disrespectful to the young lad who is dead. Yes police are corrupt still but thats ALL race police. When is the US gonna wake up and throw these excuses out. I grew up where black and white English guys pretty much act, dress, and talk the same. Neither race expects anything more or less than the other. It is simply a level playing field. Im sorry but we were not around during slavery and neither was anyone else my age. So no one can give and no one is owed that apology. Not forgetting there were just as many white slaves in the world...look at the Irish. Call me naive but if we focused more on the individual than on the race wed be living in a much better world. If you act like an obnoxious prick, black or white, then youre a prick, race doesnt make you a dick, you make you a dick. And simply by being a white guy whenever you voice a concern like this then your motives are questioned and youre made to feel like you cannot have an opinion...this in it self is racist. I cannot speak about it cos Im not a minority. Well I am an immigrant and I do see a couple of different perspectives. Yes Ive met racists in the states but Ive seen just as many racist black people as I have white. Time for the self fulling prophecies to end and time to be accountable for all individuals actions.
