Dear Friends, Endorsers and Contributors, I would like to give you an update on the success of the campaign. First, let me say thank you to those of you who have contributed to my campaign and endorsing me. The most difficult part of the campaign for me is to ask friends for money. But, as they say in politics, money is the mother’s milk of politics. I’m happy to announce that I have received the endorsement of all six small-town Whatcom County mayors. Gary Jensen, mayor of Ferndale; Scott Korthuis, mayor of Lynden; Harry Robinson, mayor of Blaine; Jim Ackerman, mayor of Nooksack; John Perry, mayor of Everson; and Bob Bromley, mayor of Sumas. All these mayors want jobs and an increase in living wages as I do. They also embraced my balanced approach to redevelopment of our waterfront. I’ve also been endorsed by the Longshoremen’s Union. Other key endorsers are: Brian Griffin, Phyllis McKee, Doug Smith (past Port Commissioner), Jason Overstreet and Vincent Buys, our state representatives. Senator Doug Ericksen, Pete Kremen and Gene Knutson are three other great endorsers. Please feel free to pass this on to any friends, or politically-involved acquaintances that you wish.
