Dear Friends & Family, Blake has some personal prayer requests - TopicsExpress

Dear Friends & Family, Blake has some personal prayer requests that he wanted us to ask you to pray for. First, Blake asks that you pray for the outside of his right foot (right below his calf) stops hurting. This is due to the increased amount of tone in his right leg. Please pray that it goes away. His second request ties into the first one as he has not been able to keep on his AFO (leg brace) on his right leg all night since it starts hurting so badly. Please pray that he is able to keep it on at night as it helps keep his right foot from turning in while he sleeps. Again, this is due to the tone at it was supposed to be taken care of 3 weeks ago when a physician at his current facility put Botox in his leg, but unfortunately he didnt put it in the correct muscles and this is why his foot keeps turning in. Thank goodness Blakes neurologist at Cook Childrens caught the mistake last Tuesday during his checkup and he will be applying it to the correct muscles next week. He said this is a common mistake by many other well intentioned physicians as they do not know how tone affects different muscles from TBIs. The only downside is that it takes a couple weeks for the Botox to take affect so please pray for the tone and pain to go away and/or that the Botox works quickly. This past weekend was awesome as Blake was able to spend some time with his friends at the 9th grade Going Back to School party. Blake is blessed to have so many supportive friends and it seemed everyone had a great time. Are you ready for this one!!!!!!! Last night Blake was surprised by some Baylor football players who have been praying for Blake since his accident. How cool is it to have a college football team filled with Christ centered athletes who take the time out of their busy schedules to not only meet in a bible study each week to deepen their faith, but to live it out by coming all the way across Waco on a Sunday evening to spend time with Blake, play cards with him, play air hockey, and share the love of Christ in sooooo may conversations, laughs and hugs. They presented Blake an autographed team jersey with #3 (as did Steve Smith, the Baylor Baseball coach with the baseball jersey) as the #3 is represented in the bible 467 times for the word completeness. Blake is on his way to completeness because of our Lord and Savior and because of these great Christian athletes and by your prayers. Thank you Collin Brence (linebacker #38), Bryce Petty (Quarterback #14), Levi Norwood (Wide Receiver #42), Clay Fuller (Wide Receiver #23), Lynx Hawthorne (Wide Receiver #84), Drew Earnest (Left Guard #66), Andrew Frerking ( Quarterback #6), Cal Spangler (Wide Receiver #80). We also were blessed to have Makenzie Robertson (played womens basketball for Baylor) and Emory Cason (Womens Soccer for Baylor #4). There are many other Baylor athletes, coaches (Art Briles and others) and Baylor faithful who have been praying for Blake and were not able to make last night. Blake cant wait to go to his first Baylor football game sometime this fall and cheer his new friends on the field!!! Thank you for your continued prayers and support. Looking Up & Looking Forward! With Much Love, Pat, Cindy, Chelsi & Blake
