Dear Friends, Further to my message yesterday, I called up Mr Prashant Waghmare’s office and spoke with Mr Pawar to explain my problem with the builder. I received a call from Ms. Salvi yesterday who is the ward officer for the Mohammadwadi area where I had booked a flat. Ms. Salvi heard my complaint about the builder. I told her that the said builder did not complete the scheme in time because he did not have permission from the PMC to build higher floors and hence did not deliver my flat in time. She said that the PMC has fined the builder Rs. 40 lacs after they received my email. My question to #PuneMunicipalCorporation is that when builders are flouting rules under their nose, why do they wait for a #Commonman like me to make them aware of the rules of #PuneMunicipalCoproation ? Isn’t it their duty to keep a check on builders who are making #UnauthorizedConstruction ? Such builders must be fined heavily and they should demolish the #UnauthorizedConstruction. There are several under trials waiting for years in crowded jails for small crimes. However, when real estate businesses cheats the common person , they are either never punished or fined a paltry amount. I was a victim - my #customer rights in terms of clear title for my flat under the laws of #MOFA act 1962 were violated. Though I have been returned the amount, the process has highly inconvenienced me, as it was difficult for me to invest in flat after this and lost the opportunity to own a flat. The #Pune #Municipal #Corporation has fined the builder a paltry amount of Rs. 40 lahks. This is insufficient. If the #builder has violated building regulations under the MOFA act, the entire structure should be demolished. It is important to clean up the #construction industry. This will ensure that customer rights are fulfilled and that the common man has a clean and clear title of his own flat. Please look into this matter urgently and I also request an urgent implementation of the #Real #Estate #Regulatory Bill.
