Dear Friends: I NEED YOUR HELP, PLEASE RE-POST THIS. MY HUSBAND - TopicsExpress

Dear Friends: I NEED YOUR HELP, PLEASE RE-POST THIS. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE TAX PAYING CITIZENS, I DO NOT RECEIVE ANY SOCIAL BENEFITS OR HANDOUTS. WHAT I DESERVE IS THE STANDARD OF CARE THAT MY DOCTOR RECOMMENDS. TRICARE/CHAMPUS APPROVE MY CLAIM NOW!. As most of you know, I was scheduled to have a Spinal Fusion tomorrow morning January 23rd. I have suffered with severe back problems since I was 17. Unfortunately, I have had 7 previous operations on my back. I had a spinal fusion in 2001 that left me pain free for10 years. I felt like a new person, and I had real quality of life. In 2011 my back again began to give me severe pain. For 3 years I have been going for alternative treatments to my back. Acupuncture, Dry Needing, Physical Therapy, Multiple spinal injections, along with Chiropractic Care. There are many days I cant even walk due to the pain. I do have some good days and on those days I take full advantage. I am in excellent care, and am extremely fortunate to have the expertise of some of the top doctors in the country treating me here in Atlanta, at Emory Orthopedic and Spine Center. Doctors here do not operate just to operate. They have been holding off suggesting surgery for me as this is the last thing they want to do is cut me open again, which I agree. My surgery was scheduled for 8:00 am tomorrow morning with a team of surgeons getting ready to repair 5 additional herniated discs. I have been waiting for 2 months to just get on the schedule. I have severe degenerative disease to my spine. I was not looking forward to the long recovery of 9 months., My family and friends were all willing to aid me with the time my body needed to heal. At 4:00 pm today I receive a call from my surgeon Dr. Dheera Ananthakrishnan stating that Tricare/Champus our medical Insurance carrier was not finding it necessary to perform the fusion that my doctor, along with a team of other Orthopedic Surgeons deemed to be necessary. This doctor is the Assistant Professor at Emory. My husband served 20 years in the US Army, we pay for our healthcare, and are now told by the review department that they do not find enough evidence for my doctor to perform this procedure. She is not willing to perform a smaller operation, only to have me go back to perform the procedure that she is now recommending. WELCOME TO GOVERNMENT HEALTHCARE.
