I wish you could have been with me at the New Zealand Family Life International Conference this month to meet the wonderful people building an army of love for the evangelization of culture on marriage and family. I was humbled that the Auckland Bishop participated in two of my training presentations on the first day of the conference. The conference was truly international as people from Tonga, The Philippines, Samoa, and Australia traveled long distances to participate. Colleen Bayer, president of FLI NZ, a recipient of the highest award of recognition by the Vatican - the Order of St. Gregory the Great, has formed wonderful partnerships for life and family all over the South Pacific. She is such a gracious and powerful witness to our faith. Marriage has already been redefined in New Zealand. It happened by surprise very quickly last spring without any public support for the change at all. Now New Zealanders are faced with the challenge of building support for restoring the recognition of the reality of marriage by law. There is a new organization starting, New Zealanders for Marriage, led by some very dynamic young Catholic mothers. We have been corresponding and helping them organize for the last several weeks. Please keep this group in prayer.
