Highlights Of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana : Announced on : 15th August 2014, Started Officially on : 28th August 2014, Approximately 1.5 Crore Bank Accounts Opened in a Single Day (28.08.2014) and is probably a Guinness Record/ World Record. Pradhanmantri Jan Dhan Yojna vowes to help the poorest of poor and every individual should have bank account with minimum insurance of 1 lac rupees to secure everyone’s life. The main features of the scheme include Rs 5,000 overdraft facility for Aadhar-linked accounts, Ru Pay Debit Card with inbuilt Rs 1 lakh accident insurance cover and minimum monthly renumeration of Rs 5,000 to business correspondents who will provide the last link between the account holders and the bank.
