Dear Friends, Some of you may have heard that I had a medical emergency last month — bypass surgery — but my files were not well enough organized for my son and brother to inform everyone. In any case, Im writing now to let you know that I am doing very well, and Im very grateful. I want to thank those of you who did hear through the grapevine, and sent blessings and good wishes via cards, e-mails and, most significantly, through the intangible but very real connection we share. And, for those of you hearing about it for the first time, I will accept blessings at any time! Ive written a brief blog post about the experience, and I will stay in touch to update you on my recovery. I am planning to return to performing in mid to late September. But for now, let me just say once again that I am healing quickly, painlessly and feeling better and stronger literally every day. And again and again, I am very grateful.
