Dear Friends, We want to share with you very exciting news and enlist your support for further recognition of the wonderful work of one of Diyar’s initiatives “The Diyar Civic Cultural Network”. The network, which seeks to empower and equip young people in Palestine to organize around civil society issues and values through the use of culture and arts, is nominated for the 2014 NELSON MANDELA-GRAҪA MACHEL INNOVATION AWARD in South Africa. This award, now in its 10th year, is granted by Civicus: World Alliance for Citizen Participation, which is one of the largest and most prestigious international network of civil society organizations, where currently it has more than 1100 organizations from all over the world. Among hundreds of nominations from different countries, we were selected and shortlisted as one of the 6 finalists Organizations. This in itself is truly a great honor. Now we are heading to the final phase, which is the popular vote, whereby the initiative that receives the highest number of votes from the users will win the 2014 award. We are competing against projects from Syria, Cameroon, Pakistan and Nigeria. If we win, this would be the first time for Palestine to receive this award. As such, WE NEED YOUR VOTE TODAY!
