Dear Friends and Alumni Makerere University, Greetings to you - TopicsExpress

Dear Friends and Alumni Makerere University, Greetings to you all. This week, i expressed my interest to serve Makerere University Staff (MUASA) as a Public Relations Executive (Formerly Chairman Welface and public Relations - Makerere University Business School Academic Staff Association - MUBASA) and emerged unopposed. In the coming days, i will join a strong team of MUASA to advance the welfare of staff and work towards incremental gains of your beloved University. On another good note, after reflecting on the current standing of our University and its future direction, I decided to dedicate myself to the Makerere University CONVOCATION as its PUBLICITY SECRETARY. I have always believed that Makerere University belongs to all of us staff, students, alumni and citizenry. Its favourable image as a premier University has always been a source of optimism to many in the great lakes region and the continent at large. Together with the incoming team of Dr. Tanga Odoi as a running Chair and with the support all of you i desire to mount my leadership qualities to proactively package a favourable position for our believed University once again. I am set out to work with a team that shall embrace the following action points; 1. Restoring Makerere University brand leadership position – Marketers believe that successful selling begins with the incorporation of the needs and wants of the target market at product design stage. Makerere University needs a good product first and one that is pregnant with the needs and wants of its alumni, staff, friends and allies. Ensuring good service delivery to our alumni and students is our beginning point. During my term in office, Makerere University will regain its 100% share as a brand leader in Education on the continent and beyond to the pride of its alumni and staff. 2. Endowment fund – Makerere University has a good number of wealthy alumni and friends at heart on whose name they would love to be pegged and bequeath their valuables. I intend to melt the bequeathing by first of all demonstrating the relevance of Makerere University to them and by removing all the bottlenecks toward the realisation of this. I have gathered that many people out there love our causes including our research agenda and other name society changing projects. This love is equal to wealth and if galvanised can enable us generate enough funds for research and other projects. Harvard has an endowment fund that is many times bigger than our economy and we possess relative potential as an Education leader on the continent of Africa. 3. Accountability, efficient use of resources and restoration of fiscal related trust – I desire to promote accountability and efficient use of resources. Value for money is what matters to me here. Our beloved university will shine. He loves progressive consensus building and he favours incremental negotiations. “WE CAN NEVER FAIL TO FIND A WAY TOGETHER” Warm regards to you all. https://youtube/watch?v=2slnEGk4uWs
