Dear HYPG Members: We appreciate you taking the time to voice your thoughts by participating in our latest poll on the page – re: individual solicitation requests for donations, money, etc. Due to majority vote (87% to 13%), individual soliciting will no longer be allowed on HYPG without admin approval. Of course, we still support and will help promote local fundraising events for registered charities; raising money for individuals desperately in need (validity is huge here); and most definitely special situations such as traumatic events (house fires, various accidents, sick kids traveling to Vancouver Children’s Hospital, etc). It is critically important these types of aforementioned fundraisers – as well as GoFundMe type pages, etc – are submitted to an admin for approval, prior to posting. This will help us protect HYPG members while retaining the integrity of the Facebook group. Feedback and various comments from HYPG members have mentioned a resource list should be available in the about section. Amazing idea. This will be implemented in the near future.
