Dear Hip-Hop, We are the blame for the N-word being used as freely as it is. If you attend any Hip-Hop dance event you will see company after company..crews after crews dancing the hearts out to songs that will edit any slang word besides NIGGA and many of the crews are not Black. As a dancer and a black MAN, i dont know how much more offended i can ever be to watch this. I know you may say well, black people dance to it and i get it but heres the problem...the culture of Hip-Hop without a name is simply just being black. In our community that word was and is still being used, so its up to Hip-Hop music to discontinue the use of the word because people are getting very comfortable saying Nigga and finding reasons why its ok to use. If a black teen is on the block and makes a mistake of staring at another black male and one of them says what you looking at nigga at that very moment, someone could lose their life and if you don;t think that the word played some part of it you may be ignorant. When someone speaks of the word Nigga whos not black and they attempt to take the sting out of it, it really hits me hard. This has happened so much through social media and im thankful for it because i want to know who feels this way. I will continue to say this and i dont push that i have a worse life than anyone but im comfortable saying this the black man shoes are the hardest to walk..day and night and with that being said in the words of Maya Angelou They laugh to conceal their crying, They shuffle through their dreams They stepped n fecthed a country And wrote the blues in screams I understand their meaning It could an did derive From living on the edge of death They kept my race alive By wearing the Mask! Great poem and it sits well. The WonderTwins
