Dear Journal: Me and the boys (Samuel and JoJo) was outside yesterday digging holes and planting some flowers, when we saw our elderly neighbor (WWII Vet) trying to fix the shade on his RV. The storm had messed it up pretty bad so we went over to give him a hand. Among the stories and memories he shared with us one stood out the most. He told us we all have many regrets and one of his was bullying. He and some of his friends had bullied a kid in HS who was different, a smart kid who wasnt popular or athletic. On one of his Leave from the War my neighbor was told this about this different kid: He had married and had two kids, one day his house caught fire with his family in it, he kicked the door open and ran into the house to save his family, no one ever came out. As my neighbor paused and choked up, he told us to this day he could never be that great of a man. He looked at my boys and told them dont bully anyone cause they are different and to stand up to those that are being bullied. Please no need to like this post, just thought Id share it, today was a good day.
