Dear Lady at Kroger, Im sure you had a perfectly good reason for going the wrong way down the one way row in the parking lot, whipping your large SUV around, and cutting me off from the spot I was going to park in. Perhaps your child is sick at home and you were rushing in to get medicine? Or maybe you needed to park closer so you didnt fall down on your trendy high heeled booties? Im also sure you had a perfectly good reason for why, when your arm (wearing a very cute plaid coat) knocked over a box of cutie oranges stacked outside the store, you didnt stop to pick them up-even though I know you saw them since you turned around and looked at them (dont worry-I picked them up for you...you can thank me later). Perhaps you left something cooking on the stove for dinner tonight and you were in a hurry, or maybe you were afraid to rip your designer jeans when you were being careful not to fall on those heels (again with the shoes!). Maybe next time you go to the store youll think about the person going the right way up that row--maybe its a woman with two young kids trying to get them into the store, or an old man who uses a cane or the lady who can barely move her neck and arms because of a pinched nerve, the one who doesnt usually park that close, but maybe needed that spot today. Maybe next time youll think about the person who stops to pick up the mess you left behind because you were too busy or distracted or whatever. Maybe you can just take the time to stop and notice that there are others in the world besides you. At the very least, maybe you can stop and tell me where you bought your shoes.
