Dear Liberia, When we started the YALI Network, I didn’t - TopicsExpress

Dear Liberia, When we started the YALI Network, I didn’t know what to expect. But in my wildest dreams I never thought we’d cross 100,000 members in just one year. This community of young leaders never ceases to amaze all of us, including President Obama. I want to share a message he recorded for you when we launched the YALI Network earlier this year. You can watch it here: https://youtube/watch?v=sSyXtFik29Y. The YALI Network offers resources you need to develop further as a leader in your community: •Take free online courses from prominent U.S. experts in business and entrepreneurship, civic leadership and public management. Watch and learn on your schedule to earn a YALI Network certificate in each track. •Get advice and tips on professional development. •Read profiles and stories about other young Africans and get ideas and tips on how to highlight or present your experience and accomplishments. What are you waiting for? Get started right here: YALI.state.gov. Of course, the greatest resources the YALI Network has to offer are its members. You make each other stronger, you answer each other’s questions, you give each other encouragement, you inspire each other just like you inspire all of us back in the U.S.A. Many of you have applied for the Mandela Fellowship next year and the process of deciding who will make that trip has just begun. We will be in touch with updates as they become available. Today I just wanted to say thanks. Thank you for being part of this community and for such a great year. Let’s keep it up! Sincerely, Macon Phillips Coordinator, Bureau of International Information Programs U.S. Department of State P.S. Don’t forget that if you like to use twitter you can always jump on the #YALICHAT hashtag and share your thoughts.
