The poverty of Jesus Christ Our most loving Jesus, Our savior , the creator of Heaven and Earth was ‘born poor’ in a humble manger in Bethlehem and grow up poor in the house of Nazareth earning his bread by the sweat of his brow as a ‘poor carpenter’, and ‘went about doing good having nowhere to lay his head. It is by the amazing redemptive power of his poverty that the birds of the air’ wandering in the streets get a national and international rehabilitation and co-ordinating centre. 2. The hunger and thirst of Jesus Christ The salvific eternal grace generated by the hunger, thirst and 40 days fasting of our loving Jesus anoints us, the poor sinners to feed spiritually, psychologically and physically the hungry and thirsty brothers and sisters wandering in the streets and many others like you, to support us with food or food materials. 3. The nakedness of Christ The immense and eternal salvific power of the absolute nakedness of Jesus on the cross Gives ‘the naked’ the grace of being properly clothed. Gives ‘friends of the birds of the air’, the special anointing to cloth worthily the naked in the streets. And many others like you to provide new beautiful and bright clothes needed for them. The sufferings of Christ The eternal healing grace of Jesus’ wounds and his suffering Empowers us to give the best medical treatment Empowers people like you to supply us with medicine, ambulance or monetary help Empowers our dedicated volunteers and medical staff to encounter, experience and serve Jesus Himself in the sick and the poor. The weakness and feebleness of Christ The weakness and feebleness of Jesus, the Word–incarnate, anoints us to empower the weeping and lamenting brothers and sisters scattered in the streets, with His Divine Word, with His presence and action in and through us that heals and strengthens them. Thus the least becomes the best, the last becomes the first and the lost becomes the choicest by the divine power of His incarnation, His Word, His Passion, death and resurrection. This amazing thing happens by the eternal salvific and redemptive power of the Divine Word, the sacraments (especially the Holy Eucharist), personal, communitarian and ecclesial prayer, life in communion with the victorious church in heaven, the suffering church in purgatory and the militant church on earth.
