Dear Navigator Family, Last July 11-17, me and some siblings - TopicsExpress

Dear Navigator Family, Last July 11-17, me and some siblings went to Bicol for my sister Arlenes burial by land trip. The whole trip was marked by less sleep due to the vigil and driving non-stop. It was strange, the people there used to have a videoke in a wake and have many other beliefs. We rushed the burial at about 11:00 a.m. of July 15 because the rain started strong already and the storm Glenda arrived six p.m. We went home right after the burial, because we feared we will be trapped because of the land slides which is usual in that place. Praise God he saved us because after three hours driving, we went right through the storm at Sorsogon and the car we rode in was at the verge of being swept away by the rushing waters. Good that a person help us to a higher level, that was about five p.m.. Three times the car slid and so I went out in the midst of the very strong wind, my eyes i could hardly open, and pushed the car, the waters by then was almost at the level of the tire. We were ushered to a house with open windows and sheltered temporarily there until ten p.m. then led to the evacuation center of about 500 people. The owner of the house happened to be the Janitor of the school so he led us to the principals office and slept there. God provided people and safe place. I was sick for two days with flu coupled with stomach trouble due to stress, lack of sleep and wet for about five hours before being able to change clothes which was borrowed from the host. The first picture is the part where I pushed the car to a higher ground, further is the school where we slept. Some cement of the entrance was washed away where the water reached waist deep but few meters down many houses washed away including tricycles and a jeepy. Three times we were the first to pass after the army chain sawed the trees. Thats the kind of scene from Sorsogon to Samar when we passed by. Thank you Lord.
