Dear Nevada Never Sleeps Fan, I Just Learned Something New --- Today Is Lammas Day - The Festival Of Wheat Harvest & The First Harvest Festival Of The Year. Thank You, Kim Copél, For Teaching Me Something New Once Again. -- Kim, is Our Douglas County & Storey County Writer & We Are VERY Excited To Have Her On Our Staff. Kim Copél, is presently a resident of Genoa, NV and a longtime local to the surrounding Sierra Nevada communities. She serves on the advisory boards of both the Lake Tahoe Historical Society and the Douglas County Historical Society. She also serves on the advisory board of the Nevada division of the National Pony Express Association and regularly gives presentations in the form of Chautauqua. Kim is the owner and tour guide of Genoa Historic Ghost Tours in Genoa, NV, which promotes Douglas County’s rich and exciting history. Kim recently formed a new business Western History ALIVE which promotes Northern California and Nevada history via historical and entertaining venues. She is also a Paranormal Investigator with “Thin Veil Investigators”. It is Kim’s belief, is that our history and our understanding of it, is an important key to the prosperity of our community, not only in the present but in the future as well.
