Dear Papa, First things first.. I love you man. Its very rare for a grandpa to have such a special bond with one of his grandchildren. But if you scroll down my news feed youll see every single one of your grandchildren with a specific post dedicated to you. These posts are filled with pictures & memories that will never be forgotten. I think its my turn to share my two favorite Papa Ron memories: 1. It was WAY back in tournament team baseball (back when I was quite the pitcher) and I was on the mound in the Championship game. There was a man sitting on the first row of the bleachers with his head inches away from the fence. After every pitch, swing, or call by the ump this man would yell things like: Hes been up there long enough! Give him the dark one! ARE YOU KIDDING ME BLUE?!?! Thats a bad call and my personnel favorite Pull the shades, close the door!!! Now what makes this one of my all time favorite memories is the fact that after one of my pitches the ump called time out and came out to me on the mound. He said Hey kid, Im really sorry about that man yelling in the stands. If its too much for you to handle Ill tell him to tone it down. I just smiled and said, Thats my grandpa. 2. This one happened just two days ago. You werent feeling good and mom said there wasnt much time left. So Z, Matt and I came to say our final goodbyes. You were laying in the bed with your eyes closed. Still as could be. Everyone said it had been a while since you opened your eyes. Well someone accidently bumped the light switch and your room went dark. When they turned the lights back on your eyes opened with them. We made direct eye contact. I looked at you and told you how much I loved you. What happened next is something Ill never forget. You lifted up your hand and gave me a fist bump. Right after that you smiled the best you could and gave me the okay sign. Right then and there I knew I could let go. I could let go because I knew you were okay and that meant I was too. I love you Papa. Ill see you again someday. Cindy Berken-Imig
