How XLRI trolled a Saurabh Nigam, SnapDealer during summer internship process! Saurabh Nigams glorious Facebook speech to elevate Ethics and Integrity. Congratulations to everyone who made this happen, however, would definitely like to highlight the falling standards of ethics and integrity in the entire process. I represent SnapDeal and have been in touch with the placecomm for more than a month now for the SIP. Was on campus to make the pre-placement talk, which I believe or was made to believe was extremely well received. Since, this is the first year that we are doing a structured summer internship process across top b-schools, our only point of discussion with all campuses has been that we should get a slot similar to other e-comm companies simply because of the fact that our program is similar to others in all aspects. Almost all campuses have agreed on this request of ours, at XL - the placecomm right through my conversations with them kept giving us the assurance that we are doing the process on the same day as other e-comm companies based on which we landed on campus to do our process, however, within an hour into interviews, we came to realise that what was told to us was a blatant lie and all other e-comm players had finished their process a day earlier than us. When asked about this from placecomm, we got a rather shocking and straight faced answer that we did not give you the right picture because other wise you would not have come to campus! We had no other option but to stop the process and move out immediatel. Issue is not about which companies get what slot - that is at the hands of the students and campus to decide and we all will have to abide by that, the real issue here is that you cannot be dishonest in your dealings with corporates just for a short term gain of placing few more students. My intention of putting up this post is not to point a finger on any individual but to highlight the fact that we as a community which take such great pride in our ethical standards, need to look internally as I do believe that our standards are falling - we havent had this kind of experience across any other top b-school including the ones which are supposedly rated higher than us, some of them have been straightforward in declining our request for an equal slot with other e-comm players but I believe thats far far better than what transpired with us at XL. I rest my case. The XLRI community would like to apologize for the Blatant Lie being perpetuated in the name of Ethics and Integrity and your sad retreat with your disciples of SnapDeal model of Ethics and Integrity from the summer internship process with your head held high for the world to see and applaud. We promise we will haul that Lack of Ethics and Integrity member of Placecomm into the hallowed social platform of Facebook and court martial the person till he reveals the hidden agenda of adopting the New SnapDeal era of Ethics and Integrity. And if he or she pleads guilty we will hang him with more than 36 likes or dislikes as the case may be. Dont rest your case now which will only fester with worms and maggots and destroy whatever value Ethics and Integrity once had. Go on a crusade again in the hallowed court room of Facebook and haul Kunal Bahl as your witness. Let him expound on Ethics and Integrity so we get a chance to really nail the issue of Ethics and Integrity, once and for all. Just like your now celebrated experience on Facebook with 36 likes when we find the One only mean the cheap chinese white labeled goods being hyped with Foreign language semantics we curse SnapDeal model of Ethics and Integrity. Just like you did as you walked out of the gates of XLRI with your head again held high seeing the fool ball ground on your left where we regularly play such Make a New Fool Day once every year on the Jokers from IIM Kolkata.
