Dear Parents, Spend this cycle talking with the students about stamina. How can you help? As parents or guardians, you know your children better than anyone else. You know when they want to do something and you know how difficult it can be to motivate them to complete a task they don’t want to do. This cycle our focus is on stamina, what it means and how to use it. We want to teach all of our students the importance of stamina, and how our mentality, whether positive or negative, affects it. This cycle, work with us to help your child realize they are capable of a lot more than they might think. Praise them when they exceed your expectations, and reward them when they exceed their own. Help them develop a routine that accomplishes tasks like chores and homework in a timely manner and works for both of you. Remind them of the benefits of perseverance and the rewards of completing their tasks, like TV time or time to play outside. Also, warn them of the consequences that occur when their chores are not taken care of properly, like a loss of dessert or video games. Give your children the opportunity to make those decisions for themselves. Soon, you won’t have to remind them to work to the best of their ability, it will become second nature as they grow to be motivated, ethical people. Guide your children as they work to reach their full potential-you’ll love the confidence and self-respect they develop as they begin to see all they are capable of accomplishing.
