Dear Patriot, How much does the Republican political establishment hate the Tea Party? So much that House Republican leader Eric Cantor’s top political consultant and former chief of staff is now working on the campaign of former Democratic Party Chairman Terry McAuliffe. McAuliffe is a liberal who is battling grassroots conservative Ken Cuccinelli to be the next Governor of Virginia. Cuccinelli has been called the "Tea Party Attorney General" because he was the first state attorney general to file suit against ObamaCare. He’s been a tireless supporter of limited government. However, Ken Cuccinelli is not the type of politician the Republican Party wants in a position of power. So, a number of establishment types in Virginia and across the nation are trying to undermine his campaign. They hate the Tea Party that much! This week they made it eminently clear that they would rather a notoriously sleazy liberal political hack like McAuliffe win this November’s election when Boyd Marcus, Eric Cantor’s political guru, announced that he will not only support McAuliffe but will serve as a campaign consultant. I expect that Mr. Marcus will be drafting anti-Tea Party attack ads for the Democrats any day now! This type of situation is why we formed the Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund earlier this year. The political establishments in both parties care only about themselves and protecting their power. Their consultants and even many of their candidates are interchangeable. They believe in nothing. They stand for nothing. And the American people are sick of it. It’s unfortunate that conservative candidates must fight on two fronts in order to win elections. It’s unfortunate that in this case the top Republican in the House couldn’t – or wouldn’t – stop his top aide from joining forces with the liberal Democrats against conservatives. However, that’s the reality of American politics today. We – you and I and every other grassroots conservative in America – are on our own. We must rise to this challenge and defeat the big government politicians in both political parties. No amount of whining or complaining will change this situation.
