Dear President Adly Mansour, Travelling is an important part of my life. From climbing Chichen Itza in Mexico to seeing the Terracotta Warriors in Xian China, combining beauty of travel with history is fascinating to me. For as long as I can remember visiting Egypt has been in my plans. However I will not consider going to Egypt as long as Dr. Tarek Loubani and John Greyson remain in prison there. I have known Dr. Tarek Loubani for 10 years. He is a friend and colleague. He is an excellent Emergency Room physician who also works helping refugees, people with mental health issues and people with addiction. He is also an important mentor. Anyone who knows Tarek Loubani knows that he is a truly amazing person. He is kind, gracious, thoughtful, compassionate; a true humanitarian and pacifist, who cares about social justice. He is truly a man of peace. Dr. Loubani and his friend Mr. Greyson have been beaten, tortured and are wrongfully imprisoned in Egypt in horrible conditions. I will not consider travel to Egypt until they are released and home safely. If they do not return home safely, I will never travel to Egypt. Sincerely, Dr. Sharon Koivu, Palliative Care Physician Consultant, LHSC, London, Ontario
