Dear Randall, According to a recent report, special interest groups -- led by groups backed by the billionaire Koch brothers -- have spent more to buy the 2014 elections than they did at this point in the 2012 elections. Here’s the most concerning part of this: 2012 was a presidential election year. Traditionally, groups spend more during a presidential race to sway voters. But thanks in part to Citizens United and other decisions, their spending has gotten out of control. Our elections are becoming a special interest free-for-all. It is high time Congress take action to reverse the disastrous effects Citizens United is having on our democratic process. Today I’m joining with a few of my colleagues to gather support for a constitutional amendment to roll back the tide of Koch-backed, special interest spending in elections.
